TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 15, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the “Sankalp Jashpur” program and launched the “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam” plantation drive in the Duldula area of Jashpur district. These initiatives focus on creating societal awareness, behavioral change, and environmental conservation across the district.
The “Sankalp Jashpur” program aims to educate women on preventing child marriage, vaccination, sickle cell disease, and snakebite prevention. Supported by district administration, UNICEF, Women and Child Development Department, Health Department, Education Department, and NRLM, volunteers will conduct awareness campaigns in over 160 panchayats. These campaigns include street plays on critical issues such as sickle cell anemia, snakebite safety, mother-child vaccination, school enrollment drives, and the prevention and management of health and waterborne diseases.
Chief Minister Shri Sai also unveiled videos and cut-outs as part of the Sankalp program. The event saw the participation of UNICEF district coordinator Shri Tejaram Sarathi, district administration officials, and several dignitaries.
In a parallel effort to promote environmental conservation, Shri Sai inaugurated the “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam” plantation drive. This initiative will see the distribution of over 200,000 saplings across the district. During the event, the Chief Minister distributed guava saplings and letters to ten beneficiaries of the Mahatari Vandana scheme. He emphasized the campaign’s aim to express gratitude towards Mother Earth and provide a sustainable environment for future generations.
“I am gifting a sapling to all our mothers and sisters,” stated Shri Sai in his letter. “This sapling not only signifies our responsibility towards nature but also reflects our unbreakable bond with it. Trees provide us with oxygen, essential for our existence. Plantation enhances the environment and ensures a supply of oxygen for human life.”
During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai personally handed over a guava sapling to beneficiary Anita Lakda and encouraged her to plant it in her courtyard. He urged all beneficiaries to care for the saplings like their own children to benefit future generations.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Shri Radheshyam Rathia, MLA Jashpur Mrs. Raymuni Bhagat, MLA Pathalgaon Mrs. Gomti Sai, and other dignitaries. The district administration has made necessary preparations at the panchayat level to ensure the successful distribution of saplings under the “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam” campaign.
