TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 20, 2024: In a significant step towards urban development, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw conducted the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for 96 development projects worth Rs 13.81 crore in Rajnandgaon. The event, organized by the Municipal Corporation at Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Stadium, marked the commencement of various infrastructure projects including roads, drains, buildings, and gardens.
The projects include infrastructure works amounting to Rs 7.54 crore, constructions funded by the 15th Finance Commission worth Rs 29 lakh, and additional projects costing Rs 49 lakh funded by the Minister-in-charge. Special guests Shri Santosh Pandey and Her Excellency Smt. Hema Deshmukh also attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raman Singh highlighted the remarkable development achieved under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership over the past seven months. He noted that initiatives such as the grain distribution worth Rs 21 crore, plantation drives, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and the Tendu Patta Yojana have significantly benefited the state’s residents. Dr. Singh emphasized that the city’s development aligns with the citizens’ aspirations and praised the overall progress in Rajnandgaon and across Chhattisgarh.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Rajnandgaon’s status as the cultural capital of the state. He stressed the importance of planned and systematic development to meet future needs and called on the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation to create a comprehensive development plan for the city. Shri Saw assured that the government would provide all necessary support, highlighting that Rs 1500 crore has been allocated for urban development since the new government took office.
MP Shri Santosh Pandey and Mayor Smt. Hema Deshmukh also participated in the ceremony, alongside other notable figures such as Rajnandgaon District Panchayat President Smt. Geeta Bhandari, former MP Shri Madhusudan Yadav, Collector Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Superintendent of Police Shri Mohit Garg, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Abhishek Gupta.
