Government Committed to Providing Housing for the Poor: Deputy CM Arun Sao

Over 30,000 Houses Constructed in Six Months, ₹358.22 Crore Distributed to Beneficiaries

TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 30, 2024:  Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao affirmed the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to providing housing for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). From January to June 2024, the construction of 30,105 houses was completed, averaging 5,018 houses per month. This marks a significant increase from the previous government’s average of 1,680 houses per month before December 2023.

Deputy CM Sao announced that from January to June this year, ₹165.30 crore from the central government and ₹94.13 crore from the state government were approved for the housing scheme, totaling ₹358.22 crore paid to beneficiaries. He emphasized that the continuous construction of houses in urban areas is a priority, and with central government approval, housing construction in rural areas will also see a boost.
