Chief Minister Shri Sai to Present Rakshabandhan Gifts to 70 Lakh Women in Chhattisgarh

CM to Distribute Sixth Installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Launch Mobile App, and Inaugurate Development Projects in Jagdalpur

TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 31, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is set to attend a district-level women’s conference in Jagdalpur on 1 August, where he will present Rakshabandhan gifts to the state’s women by releasing the sixth installment of ₹1,000 under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. During the event, he will also launch the Mahtari Vandan App. This scheme provides monthly financial aid to approximately 70 lakh married women in Chhattisgarh, promoting their economic empowerment.

In addition to the financial aid, Chief Minister Sai will distribute ₹100 crore in bank loans to 3,061 women self-help groups to support their economic activities. The event will also see the garlanding of a statue of martyr Gundadhur and the flagging off of the Jal Shakti Rath by Nari Shakti.

One Tree in the Name of Mother Campaign

Chief Minister Sai will also launch the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” initiative under the Mahavriksharopan Abhiyan. This campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s World Environment Day tree plantation initiative, aims to plant 275 lakh trees in Chhattisgarh. The goal is to plant 80 crore trees nationwide by September 2024 and 140 crore trees by March 2025.

Inauguration of Development Works

CM Sai will inaugurate various development projects worth over ₹9.31 crore in Jagdalpur. These projects include the Sub-Divisional Magistrate offices in Jagdalpur, Tokapal, and Lohandiguda, the renovation of the new Tehsil Office in Jagdalpur, and the construction of police stations in Lohandiguda and Burgum.

In the District Hospital premises, a modular kitchen and Annapurna kitchen funded under the DMFT head at a cost of ₹1.72 crore will be inaugurated, along with the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

Mahtari Vandan App Launch

To further streamline the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the new Mahtari Vandan mobile app will be launched. This Android-based app will provide beneficiaries with information about their monthly payments, including which accounts received the funds. It will also allow users to report the untimely death of a beneficiary, file complaints, check the status of complaints, and renounce benefits if needed. Additionally, the app will offer updates on government-issued guidelines related to the scheme.
