TFP Bureau, Raipur; July 31, 2024: The Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association has announced its full support for the “Jhan Kar Inkaar, Hamar Sunav Sarkar” movement, initiated by the Chhattisgarh Employees Officers Federation. State President Kamal Verma and spokesperson Balmukund Tamboli confirmed that gazetted officers from the Directorate will participate in a torch rally on August 6, marching from Indravati Bhawan to Mahanadi Bhawan at 2 PM.
President Kamal Verma highlighted the significant financial losses suffered by government officials due to the lack of dearness allowance (DA) adjustments, contrasting their situation with that of central government employees. Despite their continuous efforts in implementing various state government schemes, the officers face demoralization and growing resentment over this disparity. Verma noted that repeated appeals through memoranda over the past six months have failed to prompt any government action to resolve these issues, leaving the officers no choice but to resort to protest.
The association’s spokesperson, Balmukund Tamboli, outlined the four-phase protest plan. The first phase will see a torch rally from Indravati Bhawan to Mahanadi Bhawan on August 6. The second phase, from August 20 to 30, will involve presenting memoranda to MPs and MLAs. The third phase will include torch rallies at district, block, and tehsil levels on September 11. The final phase will culminate in a district-wide strike and demonstration on September 27, with officers taking mass leave.
Tamboli emphasized that the association will fully support this phased movement to ensure its success.
Key demands from the officers and employees include:
– Approval of a 50% DA with a 4% increase from January 1, 2024, as per the BJP manifesto.
– Adjustment of DA arrears in the GPF account from July 2019.
– Implementation of a four-tier time scale pay for state government servants.
– House rent allowance parity with the central government.
– Encashment of 300 days of earned leave, similar to the Madhya Pradesh government’s provision.
The Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association is committed to ensuring that these demands are met, reflecting the promises outlined in the BJP manifesto.
