Governance and Law Enforcement Boost

The Chief Minister inaugurated three new Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Offices in Jagdalpur, Tokapal, and Lohandiguda, each constructed at a cost of Rs 48 lakh. These offices are expected to enhance administrative efficiency and public service delivery for the residents of these areas. Previously, the SDM offices in Tokapal and Lohandiguda operated from tehsil office premises, while the Jagdalpur SDM office functioned in a joint office. The new facilities will streamline the handling of revenue cases and improve accessibility for approximately 6.65 lakh residents.

The updated facility now includes the Jagdalpur and Nazul courts, along with the court of the Naib Tehsildar for Frezarpur, Kurundi, and Markel. The renovation addresses space constraints and aims to improve public convenience. The old tehsil building is being repurposed as a ‘heritage ground’ for the Bastar Dussehra festival.
