Colorful Celebration of Hareli Festival at Chief Minister’s Residence

TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 4, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the government’s commitment to the prosperity and well-being of farmers during the Hareli festival celebrations at his residence. He highlighted that the state’s efforts are directed towards improving the agricultural sector, which supports 80 percent of Chhattisgarh’s population.


In his address to the large gathering, Chief Minister Sai expressed his gratitude to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their significant decisions benefiting farmers. He also acknowledged the 15-year tenure of Dr. Raman Singh’s leadership, which introduced zero-percent interest agricultural loans and ensured the highest paddy price in the country at Rs 3100 per quintal.

The Hareli festival event featured a vibrant rural atmosphere, with the Chief Minister and his wife, Kaushalya Devi Sai, performing traditional Gauri-Ganesh Puja and anointing Lord Shiva. Sai prayed for the state’s prosperity and performed rituals involving agricultural tools.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai inspected an exhibition of advanced agricultural equipment and distributed tractors, harvesters, and other machinery to 23 farmers. The event was attended by dignitaries including Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, and others who praised Sai’s dedication to farmer welfare.

The celebrations included Chhattisgarhi music, folk dances such as Raut Nacha and Karma, and traditional cuisine. Chief Minister Sai even joined the performers in traditional attire, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh.

Guests enjoyed a variety of Chhattisgarhi dishes prepared for the festival, including Thethri, Khurmi, Pidia, Anarsa, Khaja, Curry Laddu, Muthiya, Dumpling Bhajiya, Cheela-Fara, and Bara.
