TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 9, 2024: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, in collaboration with City Eye Care Hospital, successfully organized a Free Medical Camp on August 3, 2024. The event, spearheaded by the Legal Aid and Social Services Committee under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) V. C. Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU, was designed to raise awareness about the importance of eye and dental health, emphasizing early detection and preventive care for these vital organs.
Held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Second-Floor Reading Hall at HNLU, the camp attracted over 130 participants, including faculty, staff, and students. The day began with an informative lecture on common eye diseases, delivered by experts, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session in the Mini Theatre. Leading the health check-ups were Dr. Amrita Verma, Retina Specialist; Dr. Manish Shrivastava, Senior Ophthalmologist; Dr. Shaharyar, General Consultant; Dr. Atish Sahu, Dental Consultant; and Dr. Rashmi Rathore, Dental Consultant from City Eye Care Hospital.
The camp was well-received, with participants expressing high levels of satisfaction in their feedback. The presence of Dr. Vipin Kumar, Registrar HNLU, and Dr. Avinash Samal, Dean of Student Welfare, underscored the university’s commitment to the health and well-being of its community. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Kaumudhi Challa, Faculty Convenor of the Legal Aid and Social Services Committee.
Student convenors Ms. Shreya Suresh and Ayush Dewangan, along with other committee members, played a crucial role in the camp’s success. The committee remains dedicated to organizing similar initiatives in the future, aimed at promoting the well-being of the HNLU community and upholding the right to health, as enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
