TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 12, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai underscored the enduring relevance of Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba’s message of “Mankhe Mankhe Ek Saman” (Everyone is equal) during the ‘Mamtamayee’ Minimata Nirvan Diwas’ program and district-level oath-taking ceremony held in Rajnandgaon on August 11. He praised Baba’s fight against untouchability and social discrimination, noting that the teachings remain vital in today’s society.
During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced several key initiatives, including the renaming of the Government New College in Thelkadih after Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba. He also committed Rs. 10 lakh each for the construction of Satnam Bhawans in Sonesarar, Sakardahra, and Motipur villages, as well as for a stage at Rajnandgaon’s Satnam Bhawan. Additionally, Rs. 5 lakh was allocated for the installation of a statue of ‘Mamtamayee’ Minimata at the Government Polytechnic College in Rajnandgaon. The Chief Minister was honored by the Satnami community with a traditional turban and administered an oath to attendees to respect the national flag as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
Chief Minister Sai paid tribute to Minimata, recognizing her as the first female MP after India’s independence and lauding her contributions to women’s empowerment and the fight against untouchability in undivided Madhya Pradesh. He called on the newly elected officials of the Rajnandgaon Satnami Seva Samiti to continue her legacy by focusing on the education and development of the Satnami community, following the path laid out by Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba.
Shri Sai also highlighted the state government’s efforts to implement Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, noting that various schemes benefiting farmers, women, youth, and other segments of society are aligned with Baba Ji’s teachings.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh echoed these sentiments, praising Minimata’s work in increasing women’s participation in society and fighting social evils. He recalled her advocacy for laws against untouchability and her pioneering role in both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Dr. Singh also expressed pride in his contributions to the construction of the Jaitkham in Giraudpuri and the promotion of cultural initiatives like the Panthi dance.
MP Shri Santosh Pandey, MLA Guru Shri Khushwant Saheb, and other dignitaries present at the event also paid tribute to Minimata and Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba, urging the community to continue spreading their messages of equality and social justice.
The event saw significant community participation, with leaders from various sectors, public representatives, and a large number of Satnami community members in attendance.
