TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 15, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, in his Independence Day address, emphasized Chhattisgarh’s commitment to becoming a developed state, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Speaking at the main Independence Day ceremony at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur, Sai praised the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and reaffirmed his government’s resolve to honor their legacy through comprehensive state development.
Economic and Social Progress
Chief Minister Sai announced significant financial support and initiatives: Rs 49,000 crore has been transferred to farmers for paddy purchases and bonuses, while 77 lakh families benefit from free health services up to Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, 68 lakh families are receiving free rations, and women’s empowerment is being strengthened through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
Education and Infrastructure Development
Sai highlighted the government’s focus on educational and infrastructural enhancements, including the transformation of 211 schools into model institutions under the PM Shri Yojana. New educational facilities are being integrated, including local language education and advanced subjects like robotics and AI. Moreover, efforts are underway to implement the National Education Policy 2020, promoting education in 18 local languages.
Health and Welfare
The Chief Minister also discussed the expansion of medical and welfare services, including the establishment of the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Science and increased medical education. Forest rights certificates are now being transferred digitally, and tendu leaf collectors are receiving higher remuneration and extended collection periods.
Economic and Industrial Growth
To boost economic development, the government plans to form a Chhattisgarh Economic Advisory Council and is revising industrial policies to enhance investment opportunities. Projects such as the Korba-Bilaspur Industrial Corridor and various infrastructure developments are set to accelerate regional growth.
Cultural and Environmental Initiatives
Highlighting cultural and environmental commitments, Sai encouraged tree planting through the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and celebrated Chhattisgarh’s rich heritage linked to Shri Ram’s exile period. The government is also facilitating free visits to Ayodhya through the “Ayodhya Dham Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana.”
