TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 15, 2024: Chhattisgarh marked the 78th Independence Day with widespread celebrations led by prominent state leaders. The events were characterized by flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, cultural performances, and heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
In Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai hoisted the national flag at his residence, where he warmly greeted officers, employees, and their families. He extended his Independence Day wishes and personally interacted with the children, offering them sweets and congratulations.
Meanwhile, Smt. Kaushalya Sai, the Chief Minister’s wife, hoisted the flag at the CM Camp Office in Bagiya, Jashpur district. She participated in several district-level programs, paying tribute to martyred soldiers and leading flag-hoisting ceremonies at local schools and community events.
In Mahasamund, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel led the celebrations at the district’s mini stadium, taking the parade salute alongside Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh and Superintendent of Police Shri Ashutosh Singh. The event featured a march past by 11 police contingents and honored families of martyrs as well as outstanding government employees.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao presided over the district-level function in Bilaspur amidst a light drizzle, hoisting the tricolor and honoring 114 officers and employees for their exemplary service. The day was marked by a grand parade featuring 12 platoons and colorful cultural programs by school children.
In Balodabazar, Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal led the Independence Day celebrations, highlighting the government’s achievements and honoring freedom fighters and their families. The event also showcased a unique Mallakhamb performance, an ancient Indian sport combining elements of yoga and gymnastics, which was a first for the district.
Korba witnessed celebrations led by Commerce and Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Devangan, who hoisted the national flag and took the parade salute at the district headquarters. The function featured patriotic cultural performances and honored local heroes, including soldiers’ families and exceptional government employees.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade led the celebrations in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, where she hoisted the flag, took the parade salute, and honored 88 district officers and employees. The ceremony included colorful cultural performances that celebrated patriotism and unity.
In Dantewada, Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap hoisted the flag at the Government High School ground, where he honored families of martyrs and read the Chief Minister’s Independence Day message. The event was highlighted by an impressive march past and horse-riding stunts performed by local students.
Across the state, Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect, reflecting the unity and diversity of Chhattisgarh.
