TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 20, 2024: The State Cooperative Development Committee convened today via video conferencing at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, under the leadership of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of various cooperative initiatives under the Ministry of Cooperation’s “prosperity from cooperation” scheme, a key initiative by the Government of India.
During the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion on the cooperative activities across Chhattisgarh, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and forestry. The Chief Secretary instructed officials from the Cooperative Department to implement training programs for cooperative members, aiming to enhance their skills and effectiveness. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of utilizing warehouses constructed under cooperative societies to their full potential.
Officials reported that several new initiatives are being introduced by the Government of India to increase the income of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS). These include the operation of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, Common Service Centers, petrol pumps, and gas agencies, among other activities.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Secretary of the Cooperative Department, Mr. C.R. Prasanna, Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Mrs. Shehla Nigar, Director of the Animal Husbandry Development Department, Dr. Priyanka Shukla, and Special Secretary of Finance, Mrs. Sheetal Shashwat Verma, along with other officials from the Cooperative and Agriculture Departments.
