Chhattisgarh Takes Major Step Towards Good Governance and Transparency

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai Launches E-Office System, Swagatam Portal, and CMO Online Portal

TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 21, 2024:  In a significant move to enhance good governance and transparency in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today launched three key digital initiatives: the e-office system, the Swagatam portal, and the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) online portal. These initiatives are part of the government’s broader push to incorporate IT across all departments, aiming to increase efficiency and minimize corruption.

The Chief Minister initiated the e-office system by digitally approving a file instructing the Chief Secretary to implement the system across all government departments. This new system is designed to streamline government work, reduce errors, and eliminate unnecessary delays in file processing, ensuring that documents are securely managed in a digital format.

Speaking at the launch event at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the adoption of these digital platforms is a pivotal step towards achieving the state government’s commitment to good governance.

“Our government is committed to zero tolerance against corruption, and the use of IT in all departments is a crucial part of this strategy. Today marks a historic day for Chhattisgarh as we launch these three online systems that will significantly enhance transparency and efficiency in government operations,” said Sai.

The Swagatam portal, another key initiative launched today, aims to simplify and secure the process for visitors entering the ministry. This portal will make it easier for citizens to schedule and manage visits to meet the Chief Minister, ministers, and officials, while also enhancing security by maintaining detailed visitor records.

Additionally, the Chief Minister introduced the CMO online portal, a platform designed to provide the public with easy access to information about government schemes, programs, and public welfare initiatives. The portal will also serve as a resource for information on Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, history, and details about various districts.

The e-office system has initially been implemented in the General Administration Department and will be gradually extended to all government departments. This transition to a digital system is expected to save time in document handling, prevent manipulation, and eliminate issues of lost or misplaced documents. It will also allow the public to track the status of their applications more easily, ensuring greater transparency in government operations.

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma, Food Minister Mr. Dayaldas Baghel, MLAs Mr. Motilal Sahu and Mr. Gajendra Yadav, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, and other senior officials were present at the launch, underscoring the state’s commitment to advancing digital governance and transparency across all levels of government.
