TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 23, 2024: Five exceptional students from the Surguja division of Chhattisgarh—representing Jashpur, Surajpur, and Balrampur districts—recently paid a courtesy visit to President Smt. Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. The visit, arranged as a reward for their outstanding performance in academics, sports, music, and other school activities, was marked by a warm interaction with the President.
Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan also attended the event, engaging with the students about their academic achievements and extracurricular activities. He extended his best wishes for their future success.
The students—Jyoti from Kasturba Residential School Lakhanpur, Riya and Rajni Chauhan from Jashpur, Nandini Kindo from Surajpur, and Prashansha from Balrampur—were selected based on their remarkable achievements. Superintendent Anuradha Singh accompanied the students as their in-charge.
During their meeting with President Murmu, she congratulated the students on Rakshabandhan and discussed their studies, aspirations, and the significance of the festival. The President also showed interest in Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, and natural beauty. The students presented Rakhi and gifts to President Murmu, who appreciated their gestures.
Upon returning to Raipur, the students met with MD Samagra Shiksha Shri Sanjeev Jha, SCERT Director Shri Rajendra Katara, Deputy Director Samagra Shiksha Shri Rajesh Singh, and other officials. They shared their experiences of their first flight, their visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan, and their time in New Delhi. The students expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the administration for the opportunity, and senior officials encouraged them to continue excelling both academically and in extracurricular activities.
