TFP Bureau, Raipur; August 25, 2024: The Chhattisgarh Employees Officers Federation has entered the second phase of its ongoing agitation, named “Jhan Kar Inkaar, Hamar Sunav Sarkar,” which was launched to address the demands of state employees. The movement, initiated under the banner “Ab Nayi Sahibo, Modi Ke Guarantee Le Ke Rahibo,” aims to pressure the state government to meet a four-point charter of demands.
Federation leaders, including Convenor Kamal Verma, Division In-charge Chandrashekhar Tiwari, and District Convenor Umesh Mudliar, highlighted that the first phase saw a historic demonstration in Naya Raipur on August 6, where employees marched from Indravati Bhawan to the Ministry, followed by a war torch rally.
The second phase, ongoing from August 20 to August 30, involves submitting memoranda of demands to all MLAs, ministers, and MPs across the state. On Saturday, in Raipur, Federation representatives handed over their memorandum to MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Shri Rajesh Moonat, Shri Purandar Mishra, and Shri Motilal Sahu.
The Federation has outlined a four-stage plan to escalate the agitation. The state has been divided into five zones, with divisional in-charges assigned to ensure the success of the movement. The third phase will see torch rallies organized at the district, block, and tehsil levels on September 11. The fourth phase will culminate in a one-day strike and district-wide demonstrations on September 27. Should the state government fail to address their demands, the Federation warns that it will call for an indefinite strike involving thousands of employees across the state.
State spokesperson Chandrashekhar Tiwari reiterated the key demands, which include a 4% dearness allowance from January 1, 2024, as per the BJP manifesto, adjustment of dearness allowance arrears from July 2019 into the GPF account, implementation of a four-level pay scale, house rent allowance comparable to the central government, and an increase in earned leave encashment from 240 to 300 days, similar to provisions in Madhya Pradesh.
The Federation’s memorandum submission was supported by a number of officials, including Chandrashekhar Tiwari, Umesh Mudliyar, Pankaj Pandey, Dilip Jha, Naresh Vadher, and others from various constituent organizations
