TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 28, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai is set to honor the state’s most talented athletes at the State Sports Decoration Ceremony on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The event, organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, will take place at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, beginning at 12 noon. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will preside over the ceremony, with Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Ministers Mr. Arun Saw and Mr. Vijay Sharma, and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Tankaram Verma serving as special guests.
The state government will distribute a total of Rs 76 lakh to 97 athletes who have been selected for various awards for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23. Additionally, Rs 60.33 lakh will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of 502 medal-winning players. In total, the athletes will receive Rs 1 crore 36 lakh 33 thousand.
The ceremony will honor 06 players with the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award for 2021-22, 06 with the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, 02 with the Veer Hanuman Singh Award, 11 with the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, 05 with the Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman, and 11 athletes with the Chief Minister’s Trophy for 2021-22.
For 2022-23, 04 athletes will be awarded the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, 07 the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, 01 the Veer Hanuman Singh Award, 15 the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, 05 the Shaheed Vinod Choubey Samman, and 24 athletes will receive the Chief Minister’s Trophy.
The event will also be attended by several prominent figures, including Raipur MP Mr. Brijmohan Agarwal, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, and other state ministers and MLAs.
This ceremony is a significant recognition of the dedication and hard work of Chhattisgarh’s athletes, reinforcing the state’s commitment to fostering sports talent and encouraging future champions.
