Approval Granted for Construction of Over 60 New School Buildings and Boundary Walls at 10 Primary Health Centers in Korba

DMF funds to improve education and health infrastructure, bringing relief to students and teachers.

TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 2, 2024: The Korba district is set to see significant improvements in its education and health infrastructure, thanks to the funds allocated from the District Mineral Institute Trust (DMF). Under the directive of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the district administration has been actively using DMF funds to address critical needs in the region, particularly in education and healthcare.

In a recent development, Collector Shri Ajit Vasant approved the construction of more than 60 new school buildings and additional rooms to replace dilapidated structures in remote rural areas of the district. This initiative also includes the renovation of existing buildings. Additionally, boundary walls will be constructed around 10 primary health centers (PHCs) to enhance security.

Earlier this year, in February, the district administration had already sanctioned the construction of 88 new school buildings. The recent approvals focus on building new primary schools and additional facilities like laboratory rooms for secondary schools. These improvements are expected to significantly alleviate the challenges faced by students and teachers due to the poor condition of existing school buildings.

Relief for Students and Teachers

The approval of new school buildings has brought joy to both students and teachers. For instance, in the remote village of Baigapara-Ghinara, under the Kartala development block, a primary school currently operates in a 38-year-old building with a sheet roof. The school, which serves 57 students in two rooms, has long needed a new facility. Mrs. Shashikala Rathia, a teacher at the school, expressed her happiness, saying that the new building will provide much-needed relief for both students and staff.

Improved Health Facilities

On the healthcare front, the construction of boundary walls and staff quarters in 23 primary health centers across remote areas of the district has been approved. These improvements will allow doctors and medical staff to reside on-site, enhancing the overall functioning of the health centers. The boundary walls will also provide a sense of security for both medical personnel and patients.

These initiatives reflect the district administration’s commitment to using DMF funds effectively to improve the quality of life in Korba, particularly in underserved areas.
