Wi-Fi to Reach Every Gram Panchayat in Rajnandgaon District: Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma Emphasizes Quality and Innovation in Development Work

TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 2, 2024: In a comprehensive review meeting held today at the Rajnandgaon District Collectorate, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh emphasized the importance of extending Wi-Fi facilities to the last Gram Panchayat in the district. He highlighted the need for improved communication capabilities, enabling video conferencing with local leaders like Sarpanchs and Secretaries in rural areas. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Rajnandgaon District Minister in charge Shri Vijay Sharma, focused on enhancing the quality and reach of various developmental schemes.

Dr. Raman Singh expressed concern over the delays in development projects caused by lapses in funds under the Revival Distribution Area Scheme. He urged immediate action against companies and contractors failing to complete work on time, recommending their cancellation or blacklisting. The Assembly Speaker also stressed the need for a robust water supply in both urban and rural areas, urging the swift installation of pumps under the Amrit Mission Yojana to ensure reliable water delivery.

The meeting also addressed the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a key initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi aimed at providing clean drinking water in rural areas. Dr. Singh called for the quality-oriented execution of the scheme and expedited completion of ongoing projects. He also directed district officials to resolve all undisputed cases of transfer and partition, ensuring that revenue cases are addressed promptly through organized camps.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma echoed the call for quality and innovation in public projects. He instructed district officials to ensure that all government schemes are implemented with the public’s best interests in mind, emphasizing the need for active administrative involvement. He also highlighted the importance of achieving 100% Wi-Fi coverage in the district through mobile networks, which would enhance connectivity and allow direct engagement with the public via video conferencing in Panchayati Raj systems.

During the meeting, MP Shri Santosh Pandey raised concerns about the high number of cows at the Revadih Kanji House, urging provisions for adequate fodder and water. The session was attended by prominent figures including Dongargarh MLA Shri Daleshwar Sahu, District Panchayat President Smt. Geeta Sahu, Collector Shri Sanjay Agarwal, and Superintendent of Police Shri Mohit Garg, along with other district-level officials.
