TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 7, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the Prayas Residential School in Garh Umaria, Raigarh district, on Saturday, emphasizing the crucial role of education in shaping lives. In his speech, he encouraged students to aspire for greatness and work diligently to turn their dreams into reality.
Marking the occasion with greetings for Ganesh Chaturthi, Shri Sai highlighted the importance of the new school, saying, “Life is incomplete without education. The Chhattisgarh government is continuously working to ensure that students receive better education and progress in life.” He expressed hope that the Prayas Residential School in Raigarh would set a new benchmark for educational excellence in the region.
The Chief Minister also noted the government’s focus on establishing more educational institutions across the state. He emphasized that the inauguration of this school is part of ongoing efforts to improve access to quality education, in line with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, initiated under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision. A total of 263 schools in the state have been integrated into the PM Shri School Scheme, which aims to elevate the quality of education nationwide. During the event, Shri Sai distributed educational materials to the students admitted to the newly established school.
Agriculture Minister and Raigarh district in-charge, Shri Ram Vichar Netam, lauded the government’s efforts to secure a brighter future for the youth. He hailed the inauguration on Ganesh Chaturthi as a milestone in the state’s educational progress, noting that several students from Prayas Vidyalaya had already excelled in board exams. He encouraged students to keep striving towards their goals.
Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary spoke about the collaborative efforts between the state and central governments to enhance the education system. He highlighted Raipur’s unique standing as the only city in India to host prestigious institutions like NIT, AIIMS, IIT, IIIT, HNLNU, Medical College, and IIM.
Prayas Residential School, known for its commitment to excellence, has been established for the academic session 2024-25. Located in the Livelihood College building in Garh Umaria, the school admitted 96 students—49 boys and 47 girls—after a state-level counseling process.
