TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 9, 2024: Chhattisgarh has recorded an average rainfall of 993.7 mm from 1st June 2024 till date, according to data compiled by the State-Level Control Room under the State Government’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department. The district of Bijapur recorded the highest average rainfall at 2192.4 mm, while Bemetara saw the lowest at 509.2 mm.
The State-Level Flood Control Room provided detailed data showing rainfall distribution across various districts. Surguja district recorded 535.2 mm, Surajpur 933.9 mm, Balrampur 1373.9 mm, Jashpur 815.8 mm, Koriya 950.4 mm, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur 951.7 mm of average rainfall.
Raipur district received 799.1 mm, Balodabazar 983.8 mm, Gariaband 962.6 mm, Mahasamund 754.7 mm, and Dhamtari 885.4 mm. In central districts, Bilaspur recorded 874.7 mm, Mungeli 986.2 mm, Raigarh 916.5 mm, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh 570.6 mm. Janjgir-Champa saw 1059.2 mm, Sakti 900.8 mm, and Korba 1267.7 mm. Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi registered 1048.2 mm of rainfall.
Durg district received 559.8 mm, Kabirdham 775.4 mm, Rajnandgaon 912.2 mm, and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki 1056.1 mm. Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai recorded 666.9 mm, while Balod reported 981.9 mm.
In the southern districts, Bastar registered 1130.6 mm, Kondagaon 1025.9 mm, Kanker 1213.8 mm, Narayanpur 1277.5 mm, Dantewada 1373.8 mm, and Sukma recorded 1544.5 mm of average rainfall from 1st June until today. These figures highlight the wide range of rainfall patterns across the state, with some areas experiencing much heavier rainfall than others.
