TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 10, 2024: In a move to reduce casualties caused by lightning, the Government of India has developed the Damini App, a mobile application that provides real-time alerts and safety guidelines for lightning strikes. The app offers information about potential lightning occurrences within a 20 to 31-kilometer radius, along with recommended precautions to take during such events.
With the growing number of lightning-related incidents in the district, authorities have instructed department heads and field officials to download the app. Citizens are also being encouraged to install the Damini App to ensure their safety and that of their livestock.

Additionally, the government has also promoted the Meghdoot App, which provides farmers with weather updates, including forecasts on temperature, rainfall, wind speed, and direction, helping them make informed decisions about their crops.
