Home Guard Recruitment Resumes After Nearly a Decade Under Chief Minister’s Directive

# 465 Vacancies to be Filled Between September 16 and October 1 at Bharni Parsada Grounds
# Bilaspur Collector and SP Oversee Preparations for Smooth Execution

TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 10, 2024: After almost a decade, the recruitment process for Home Guards in Chhattisgarh has resumed under the directive of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. A total of 465 positions will be filled across districts under the Bilaspur Revenue Division. The recruitment drive, which will take place at the Fire and SDRF grounds in Bharni Parsada from September 16 to October 1, has attracted approximately 21,000 applicants.

Bilaspur Collector Shri Awanish Sharan and Superintendent of Police (SP) Shri Rajnesh Singh visited the grounds on September 10 to review the preparations and assigned responsibilities to ensure smooth execution of the process.

According to DIG of Fire and Emergency Services, Shri S.K. Thakur, 200 of the available vacancies are allocated for male home guards, while 265 positions are reserved for female home guards in women’s hostels. The physical efficiency test, which is expected to assess 1,500 candidates daily, will be based on a 100-point evaluation system. Male candidates will participate in a 100-meter sprint, 800-meter run, long jump, and high jump, while female candidates will take part in all events except the 100-meter sprint. The district-wise allocation includes 75 vacancies for Bilaspur, and 25 positions each for Mungeli, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Raigarh, Korba, and Janjgir-Champa districts.

All candidates have been issued call letters with specific dates for the test. They are required to bring necessary documents, such as caste and residence certificates, employment registration, NCC-C certificates, heavy vehicle driving licenses, and division or higher-level sports competition certificates.

During the review visit, the Collector and SP emphasised the importance of completing ground preparations, including levelling, fencing, and setting up medical facilities, event infrastructure, and sanitation measures. Adequate provisions for drinking water, waste management, mobile toilets, traffic control, and law enforcement were also highlighted as essential for a smooth recruitment process. DFO Shri Satyadev Sharma and Zila Panchayat CEO Shri Ramprasad Chauhan were also present at the review meeting.
