Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Warns of Strict Action for Negligence, Encourages Mission-Mode Focus on Welfare Programs

TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 12, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai called on district collectors to operate in “mission mode” to guarantee that all eligible citizens receive the benefits of government schemes, during an extensive eight-hour Collector’s Conference held in Raipur. Stressing the importance of public welfare, the Chief Minister emphasized that outstanding work would be recognized, while negligence would result in strict consequences.

Shri Sai urged district officials to resolve public grievances locally and ensure that only unresolved issues reach the weekly ‘Mukhyamantri Jandarshan’ program. He also called for timely resolutions to revenue-related matters and stressed the importance of ensuring swift issuance of caste certificates, particularly for landless families.

The Chief Minister placed special emphasis on the implementation of key schemes such as the PM JANMAN Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He highlighted that the welfare of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) remains a priority and announced plans to review progress in person.

Education and healthcare were also major topics, with the Chief Minister focusing on expanding initiatives like parent-teacher meetings, improving local language education, and enhancing healthcare delivery through Ayushman cards and PM Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Shri Sai also urged action on infrastructure issues, including road access and water conservation efforts, and called for improved monitoring of Jal Jeevan Mission projects.

On social security, the Chief Minister warned against any delays in pension payments, highlighting the government’s commitment to its most vulnerable citizens. Additionally, Shri Sai announced the launch of the Bastar Olympics 2024, aimed at promoting sports talent from sensitive and Naxal-affected regions, providing opportunities for marginalized communities to engage with society through sports.

The conference was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, senior secretaries, and district officials, all tasked with implementing the Chief Minister’s directives to strengthen public trust in the government.
