TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 14, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s Special Health Assistance Scheme is proving vital for patients in Balodabazar district, extending support from children to the elderly for serious medical conditions. The scheme has provided over Rs. 7 crore 32 lakh to 191 patients in the district, covering a range of critical treatments.
The scheme’s impact is evident in cases like that of Richa Kurre, a 22-year-old college student from Amera village. After suffering from jaundice and a liver problem, Richa’s family sought help under the scheme when a liver transplant was recommended. They received Rs. 18 lakh in assistance, enabling Richa to undergo the procedure and recover successfully.
Similarly, the wife of Ramesh Kumar Kannauje from Harinbhatta village received approximately Rs. 10 lakh to cover the costs of special care for her premature twins at a private hospital in Raipur.
Sanjay Kumar Verma, a 50-year-old from Keshli village, received Rs. 6.5 lakh for a pacemaker installation following a heart attack, thanks to the scheme’s support during his treatment at AIIMS Raipur.
The Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, funded by the expanded Sanjeevani Assistance Fund, provides up to Rs. 25 lakh for treatment at approved hospitals, covering conditions such as liver, kidney, lung, and heart transplants, as well as cancer, heart disease, and other serious illnesses. Eligibility extends to families with Priority and Antyodaya ration cards, and the scheme is applicable at registered hospitals both within and outside the state.
