Chhattisgarh to Launch MBBS Courses in Hindi Starting 2024

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announces new initiative to benefit rural students on Hindi Diwas

TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 14, 2024: In a landmark move announced on Hindi Diwas, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai revealed that all medical colleges in Chhattisgarh will soon offer MBBS courses in Hindi. Starting from the 2024-25 academic session, students in the state will have the option to pursue medical education in their native language.

Accompanied by Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the Chief Minister confirmed that the Health Department has been tasked with ensuring the availability of necessary textbooks in Hindi to align with the student intake. This initiative aims to eliminate language barriers for students from rural areas, who often face challenges when studying in English.

Shri Sai emphasized the importance of promoting Hindi not only in governance and administration but also in education. He noted that the state government is working in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, who previously advocated for the introduction of Hindi in medical education.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Chhattisgarh currently has 10 government medical colleges, and this initiative will benefit many talented students who are more comfortable learning in Hindi. By enabling education in their mother tongue, Shri Sai believes students will gain a deeper understanding of medical subjects, ultimately leading to the creation of more competent doctors.

The government remains committed to expanding this approach across all educational levels, ensuring equal opportunities for students across the state.
