TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 17, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transferred the first installment of ₹2044 crore online for the construction of pucca houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), benefiting more than 5.11 lakh families in Chhattisgarh. The online payment was part of a grand ceremony held at the Indore Stadium in Raipur, attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and other dignitaries.
During the event, which was conducted virtually by Prime Minister Modi, over 23,000 urban families in Chhattisgarh were handed the keys to their new homes, along with completion certificates, door arches, and puja materials. This initiative is a significant step towards fulfilling the government’s vision of providing secure and permanent housing for all.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the initiative, noting that it aligns with the Prime Minister’s commitment to improving the lives of the poor and underserved. He emphasized that 30% of the houses built under the PMAY across India are in Chhattisgarh, reflecting the state’s progress in housing development.
Highlighting the importance of the scheme, Chief Minister Sai stated that if any irregularities are reported, actions will be taken directly against the registrars. He also launched the technology passport redemption and home portal, designed to streamline the housing process and ensure transparency.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh celebrated the event as a historic milestone for Chhattisgarh, marking a significant achievement in social justice and housing equity. He commended the central government’s efforts in transforming the lives of the poor over the past decade through the provision of millions of homes.
Food Minister Pipra Das Bangal, Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan, and other officials were present at the event, along with Raipur MP Vaibhav Mohan Agarwal and Mahasamund MP Roopkumari Chaudhary.
