TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 17, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met with Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, on September 17 to discuss key issues regarding the state’s steel industry. The discussions centered around increasing production at SAIL and NMDC and improving coordination between these public sector undertakings (PSUs) and the state government.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasised the importance of fast-tracking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by both SAIL and NMDC. He highlighted the need for these programs to focus on enhancing skill development for local youth, particularly in the Nagarnar region, to create better employment opportunities.
Shri Kumaraswamy, who is on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, arrived in Raipur after inspecting the Nagarnar Steel Plant in Bastar and the Bhilai Steel Plant. The visit underlined the government’s commitment to boosting industrial growth and ensuring socio-economic development in the region.
Senior officials, including SAIL Chairman Shri Amarendu Prakash, NMDC CMD Shri Amitava Mukherjee, and other key figures from the steel industry and state government, were present during the discussions.
