TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 20, 2024: In a decisive move reflecting his government’s zero tolerance on corruption, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai of Chhattisgarh has suspended the General Manager of the Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation, Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma, following allegations of administrative negligence. The suspension follows an investigation into the careless disposal of newly printed textbooks for the 2024-25 academic session, which were sold as scrap to a paper mill in Silyari.
The Chief Minister took immediate cognizance of the incident, directing Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Renu Pillai to investigate the matter. After preliminary findings pointed to negligence on the part of Mr. Sharma, a State Administrative Service officer, Chief Minister Sai acted promptly, suspending him under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
The suspension comes just days after the Chief Minister reiterated his zero-tolerance stance on corruption during the recent Collector’s Conference. Sai has been vocal about his administration’s commitment to good governance, emphasizing that administrative laxity and corruption will not be tolerated. “Strict action will be taken against any official who shows carelessness or indifference in their duties,” Sai asserted at the conference.
The Chief Minister’s actions have sent a clear message across the state’s bureaucracy—negligence, especially in critical sectors like education and health, will be met with swift consequences. He has reaffirmed his priority to eliminate any opportunities for corruption and has instructed officials to maintain vigilance in upholding the integrity of government services.
In recent weeks, Sai’s firm approach has been evident in various administrative decisions, underscoring his commitment to ensuring accountability at all levels of government.
