TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 21, 2024: Under the leadership of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Chhattisgarh’s Forest Department is gearing up for the All India Forest Sports Meet (AIFSM) 2024 with unwavering dedication. Set to be hosted in Raipur, this prestigious event will bring together forest department officials and employees from across the country to compete in over 250 sporting events. The competition will feature more than 20 sports disciplines, including athletics, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, lawn tennis, volleyball, cricket, and table tennis.
From August 29 to 31, 2023, Chhattisgarh held a selection tournament that resulted in the selection of over 350 athletes to represent the state at the AIFSM 2024. These athletes are currently undergoing rigorous training under the guidance of professional coaches in training camps, with full support from Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shri V. Srinivas Rao.
Nodal Officer and Senior IFS Officer Smt. Shalini Raina emphasized that the training sessions are being held at Raipur’s well-equipped grounds and courts. To ensure top performance, the athletes’ diet and health are being closely monitored, focusing on enhancing their physical and mental strength. Chhattisgarh’s athletes have a proud history at the AIFSM, having secured first place in the 2023 edition in Panchkula, Haryana, with a total of 67 gold medals. This year, the team is training with the same determination to surpass their previous record.
The Chhattisgarh team boasts star athletes like Charulata Gajpal in athletics, Teja Sahu in weightlifting, and Maniram Adile in swimming, all of whom have consistently delivered gold-medal performances. Their leadership and commitment inspire confidence that the state will once again lead the medal tally at the AIFSM 2024.
With discipline, passion, and focused training, the entire team is determined to bring glory to Chhattisgarh on the national stage.
