TFP Bureau, Raipur; September 24, 2024: Chhattisgarh has made a significant stride in education development with 78 additional schools joining the Prime Minister Shri Yojana, bringing the total number of participating schools in the state to 341. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai announced this expansion, emphasizing the state’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047.
Under the PM Shri Yojana, schools are being transformed into model institutions with advanced facilities such as Shri Labs, science excellence laboratories, vocational labs, libraries, and digital classrooms. The addition of 78 schools marks the fourth phase of the initiative, which includes schools from grades 1 to 12. Earlier phases saw 211 schools enrolled in the first phase and 52 in the third phase.
Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that this effort, supported by the National Education Policy 2020, aims to elevate the quality of education in Chhattisgarh. “The development of model schools will play a crucial role in shaping a prosperous and developed India,” he said. He also thanked Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan for his role in launching the Shri Yojana in Chhattisgarh earlier this year on February 19, 2024.
The initiative includes smart classrooms, dedicated laboratories for science, mathematics, and sports, as well as digital libraries. Each school is receiving an investment of Rs 2 crore annually to enhance educational facilities and resources. Through these efforts, Chhattisgarh aims to become a leader in education and set an example for other states to follow.
