TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 14, 2024: The Central Government has pledged full support for the tourism-related projects being implemented in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat assured his backing during a meeting with Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, in New Delhi today.
In accordance with Chief Minister Sai’s directives, Acharya presented a comprehensive overview of various tourism initiatives, including the Shri Ramlala Ayodhya Darshan Yojana, to Shekhawat. As a token of appreciation, Acharya gifted the Union Minister a bell metal statue of Vanvasi Ram crafted by Bastar artisans.
Acharya also submitted proposals worth approximately Rs 300 crore to M.R. Sindrem, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism. These proposals, part of the “Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment” scheme, include ambitious plans for a Film City, Convention Center, Wellness Resort, and Nature City in Raipur. Updates were also provided on the progress of the Swadesh Darshan and Prasad Yojanas, which are already underway in the state with Central support.
Additionally, Acharya met with Suman Billa, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, to discuss Chhattisgarh’s vast tourism potential. He presented another bell metal statue, this time of Bhaancha Ram, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage.
