Chhattisgarh Government Partners with i-Hub Gujarat to Boost Innovation and Start-Ups

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai lauds MoU as a historic step to foster a culture of innovation in Chhattisgarh

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 16, 2024: In a major move to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the state, the Chhattisgarh government has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with i-Hub Gujarat. The agreement, aimed at fostering an innovation-driven ecosystem, was formalized in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at the Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Shri Sai hailed the MoU as a transformative step for the state, saying it will create opportunities for young innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their ideas into successful ventures. “This partnership with i-Hub Gujarat, which has a proven track record of turning youth-led innovations into marketable products, will provide the necessary resources, guidance, and mentorship to our students and entrepreneurs,” said Shri Sai.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Chhattisgarh is committed to becoming a hub of innovation and start-ups. The agreement will not only offer technical support but will also connect young innovators with industry experts, investors, and advisors, paving the way for the commercialization of their ideas.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma noted that the state will provide financial resources and workspace for young entrepreneurs, helping them transition their innovative concepts into viable businesses. He highlighted the state’s efforts to create an ecosystem that will allow youth to flourish in both industry and business sectors.

Technical and Employment Department Secretary Dr. S Bharatidasan said the MoU, set for an initial term of three years, aims to cultivate a robust entrepreneurship culture among the youth. A dedicated center for innovation will be established at the Government Engineering College to support this initiative. Dr. Bharatidasan also noted that the youth of Chhattisgarh have already secured over 800 patents, and more than 1,724 start-ups have been initiated in the state.

The MoU was signed by Dr. S Bharatidasan on behalf of Chhattisgarh’s Technical Education Department and Mr. Banchanidhi Pani, Technical Education Commissioner of Gujarat.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Commerce Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, and Sports Minister Tankaram Verma, among others.
