New Members Assume Roles at Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women

Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak urges members to prioritize advocacy for women’s rights

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 17, 2024: In an initiative led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh Government has appointed new members to the State Commission for Women, aiming to enhance justice and support for women across the state. The five newly appointed members officially took charge at the Commission office today, following the earlier appointment of Smt. Laxmi Verma from Balodabazar on October 7.

The new members include Smt. Priyamvada Singh Judev from Jashpur, Smt. Sarla Kosaria from Mahasamund, Smt. Ojaswi Mandavi from Dantewada, and Deepika Sori from Sukma. The appointments come after the previous members’ tenure concluded on June 27, 2024.

Dr. Kiranmayee Nayak, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, welcomed the new members and urged them to actively advocate for women’s rights and issues. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Sai for ensuring representation from various divisions, especially Surguja and Bastar.

During the welcoming ceremony, attended by Beltara MLA Shri Sushant Shukla, Secretary of the State Women Commission Shri Manoj Kumar Sinha, Assistant Director Smt. Pushpa Kiran Kujur, and several Commission employees, Dr. Nayak highlighted the importance of the Commission’s work in fostering a supportive environment for women in Chhattisgarh.
