TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 21, 2024: The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has announced amendments to the schedule for revising the electoral rolls for upcoming urban body elections. State Election Commissioner Shri Ajay Singh informed that the deadline for submitting claims and objections has been extended by one week, following requests from several districts.
Originally set for October 23, the new deadline for receiving claims and objections is now Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 3 PM. The Commission has also adjusted other dates in the electoral roll revision process. The final date for resolving claims and objections is now Friday, November 8, 2024.
Additional key dates include the submission of claims in Form A-1, which must be completed by November 8, and the disposal of claims by November 12. Any appeals against disposal orders must be filed within five days of the order. The addition, amendment, or deletion of names in the electoral roll software will be finalized by November 20.
The Election Registration Officer will review and verify the checklist by November 22, with the supplementary list attached to the original list by November 25. The final publication of the electoral rolls is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
