TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 23, 2024: In a significant step towards financial inclusion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a new branch of UCO Bank in the village of Bhelwan, located in the Farasabahar development block, via video conference from the Camp Office Bagiya. During the event, he also distributed cheques worth Rs 24 lakhs to four women’s self-help groups, empowering 40 women from the region.
Addressing the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the new banking facility, stating, “This branch will enhance financial access for the people of Farasabahar and neighboring areas, providing crucial banking services for their daily needs. Women will particularly benefit from this initiative, enabling them to become more self-reliant.”
As part of the program, Rs 6 lakhs each were presented to four women self-help groups from Joranda Jharia, totaling Rs 24 lakhs in financial support. The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to the women and commended their efforts towards achieving financial independence. He also noted that several initiatives have been launched under his leadership to support women’s employment and entrepreneurship, particularly in vegetable farming, pickle-making, papad production, and sericulture. These initiatives are helping women across the state attain economic self-sufficiency.
