TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 27, 2024: In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), a 240-bed super specialty hospital in Bilaspur, on October 29. Built at a cost of Rs 200 crore, the hospital will initially launch outpatient (OPD), ward, and intensive care facilities, followed by expansions in diagnostic labs and surgical theaters across three additional phases.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the inauguration in Bilaspur, while Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal will participate in Raipur. The new facility aims to benefit patients across Chhattisgarh, especially those in surrounding districts, by providing advanced medical services locally and reducing the need to travel to Raipur.
In alignment with the state government’s healthcare goals, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Raipur, the first facility of its kind in the state. The 100-bed institute, which will focus on non-communicable diseases, is set for completion in 24 months at a cost of Rs 90 crore. Situated on 10 acres provided by the Chhattisgarh government, the institute will serve as both a treatment center and a research hub, offering wellness therapy training and fellowship programs in yoga and naturopathy.
Health Minister Jaiswal expressed that CRIYN will advance Chhattisgarh’s position in alternative medicine and wellness, enabling cutting-edge research and treatment that benefits the wider community. “This institute will introduce new insights into the effects of yoga and naturopathy, marking a milestone in the holistic healthcare movement in Chhattisgarh,” he added.
