Modi and Mitsotakis Discuss Strengthening India-Greece Ties

Leaders emphasize commitment to enhance strategic partnership and review bilateral cooperation across key sectors

TFP Bureau, New Delhi; November 2, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Greece, H.E. Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to discuss the strengthening of their nations’ strategic partnership. During the call, PM Mitsotakis extended his warm congratulations to PM Modi on his re-election following the recent general elections in India.

Both leaders acknowledged the positive momentum in bilateral relations stemming from recent high-level exchanges and reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing cooperation between India and Greece. They reviewed progress made in key areas such as trade, defence, shipping, and connectivity, building on discussions from PM Mitsotakis’s visit to India earlier this year.

In addition to bilateral matters, the two leaders exchanged views on various regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) and developments in West Asia. They expressed a mutual desire to maintain ongoing communication as they work towards furthering their strategic partnership.
