TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 8, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unveiled plans to establish a new B.Ed. College and a Transport Nagar in Balodabazar while inaugurating various development projects totaling Rs 60.20 crore. The announcements were made at a ceremony at Dussehra Ground, where CM Sai conducted the bhoomipujan (groundbreaking) and inaugurated projects aimed at bolstering infrastructure and community welfare in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.
In his address, Chief Minister Sai highlighted the government’s commitment to educational and transport development, underlining the significance of the proposed B.Ed. College and Transport Nagar for the district’s growth. The event included bhoomipujan for 16 projects worth Rs 32.32 crore and the inauguration of 32 completed projects totaling Rs 27.88 crore.
The ceremony was attended by Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, MP Kamlesh Jangde, and MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, among others.
Support for Housing and Youth Employment
During the event, CM Sai handed approval letters for new homes to 2,100 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Additionally, 51 beneficiaries received keys to newly constructed houses, and certificates were presented to 51 youth under the district’s “Hum Honge Kamyaab Abhiyan,” a program aimed at youth skill development and employment.
Under PMAY (Gramin), each beneficiary house receives financial support of Rs 1.20 lakh, supplemented by Rs 21,870 in wages through 90 days of work under MNREGA and an additional Rs 12,000 for toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission. This brings the total aid per household to Rs 1,53,870. Bhoomipujan was performed for the construction of 2,100 homes with a combined budget of Rs 32.31 crore.
Farmers’ Gratitude and Support for Paddy Procurement
Local farmers expressed their appreciation for the government’s paddy procurement price of Rs 3,100 per quintal by gifting the Chief Minister a ‘Tukni’ and ‘Parra’ filled with paddy, symbolizing gratitude for the policy, which allows up to 21 quintals per acre.
The Chief Minister’s announcements are part of an ongoing initiative to address infrastructure, housing, and agricultural needs across the district, reflecting the government’s focus on both rural and urban development.
