Tribal Pride Day: Statewide Celebrations and Seminar to Honor Tribal Heritage and Contributions

Two-day seminar in Raipur to discuss tribal culture, challenges, and contributions to Indian history

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 11, 2024: On November 15, the state will observe Tribal Pride Day with a series of programs and discussions in honor of tribal culture and the contributions of tribal heroes to the Indian freedom struggle. A key event will be a two-day seminar-discussion on November 14 and 15, organized by the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department and the Tribal Research and Training Institute. The seminar, held at the Science College Ground in Raipur, will cover a wide range of topics related to tribal communities, including their culture, conservation efforts, career opportunities for tribal students, mental health challenges, and their contributions to India’s independence.

The seminar will feature subject experts, researchers, students, and intellectuals who will engage in discussions on important issues such as the implementation of the Forest Rights Act, challenges in tribal areas, and the global role of tribal communities in environmental protection. In addition to the seminar, the Tribal Pride Day will be marked with celebrations across all district headquarters, with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attending the program in Raipur. Key dignitaries, including ministers, MPs, and MLAs, will attend the events at various district locations. Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu will be the chief guest in Bilaspur, while Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw will attend Mungeli. Other prominent leaders, including the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, and various other ministers and MPs, will attend different district celebrations to honor the significance of the day.

These initiatives are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to celebrate and promote tribal heritage and ensure that the challenges faced by tribal communities are addressed through awareness and dialogue.
