TFP Bureau, Nava Raipur, November 11, 2024: The Chhattisgarh government has appointed Shri Kumar Biswaranjan, IAS (2020 batch), as Chief Operating Officer of the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHIPS), effective immediately. Shri Biswaranjan, who previously served as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry, will now lead CHIPS, which manages the state’s major information technology and e-governance initiatives.
The appointment comes with an official declaration under Rule-12 of the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2016, equating the COO position at CHIPS with the Senior Pay Scale cadre post in terms of responsibility and prestige. This adjustment highlights the importance placed on CHIPS as a driver of digital transformation and public service enhancement in Chhattisgarh.
The order, issued by Mukesh Kumar Bansal, Secretary of the General Administration Department, is effective until further notice and underscores the government’s focus on advancing technological and administrative reforms under the leadership of skilled IAS officers.
