TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 15, 2024: On the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the birth anniversary celebrations at Khalsa School in Raipur. The event, marked by devotional hymns in Kirtan Darbar, saw the Chief Minister offer his prayers and extend heartfelt wishes for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all the people of Chhattisgarh.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai spoke of the profound influence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, not only on the Sikh community but on all Indians. He said, “The life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is an inspiration for everyone. He emphasized social unity and the creation of an egalitarian society, values that resonate strongly today.” The Chief Minister also acknowledged the Sikh community’s significant role in India’s fight for independence, noting that their dedication to religion and the spirit of service are defining characteristics of the community.
Shri Sai further highlighted the sacrifices made by Sikh Gurus, particularly recalling the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sons, Sahibzaade Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. He emphasized, “When faced with pressure to convert, they chose martyrdom rather than abandon their faith. This is a testament to the bravery and unwavering commitment of the Sikh community.” He also referred to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s announcement to celebrate the martyrdom day of the Sahibzaades on December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas, a day of pride for all Indians.
The celebration was attended by numerous dignitaries, including MLAs Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Shri Bhupendra Savnani, Shri Manmohan Chawla, and officials from the Gurudwara Committee. The event was a moment of reflection on the contributions of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the Sikh community’s lasting impact on Indian society.
