Surguja Kickboxers Shine at National League, Bag Four Medals

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulates athletes, lauds their achievements and wishes them success.

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 18, 2024: Four kickboxing athletes from Surguja have made the state proud by winning two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the Professional National Kickboxing League, held from November 10 to 14 in Coorg, Karnataka. The victorious players were felicitated by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence office, where he praised their hard work and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.

In the prestigious competition organized by the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, Surguja’s Swati Rajwade triumphed in the under-60 kg weight category, clinching a gold medal, while Sarvar Ekka secured another gold in the under-50 kg category. Satyam Sahu earned a silver medal in the under-70 kg category, and Sanjana Minj brought home a bronze in the under-50 kg category.

The Chief Minister commended the athletes for their dedication and resilience, noting their achievements were a source of inspiration for young sports enthusiasts across the state. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting athletes and nurturing sports talent in Chhattisgarh.

The celebration was attended by President of the Kickboxing Association of Chhattisgarh Shri Chhagan Lal Mundra, Executive President Shri Tarakesh Mishra, Secretary Shri Akash Guru Diwan, and team coach Shri Khilawan Das. The event highlighted the growing prominence of kickboxing in the state and the potential of its players to excel on national and international platforms.
