Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan pays tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee; releases university publications at Atal Bihari Vajpayee University

TFP Bureau, Raipur, 25 December 2024: Kerala Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan graced the ‘Kul Utsav’ ceremony at Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur, today, marking the centenary birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The three-day celebration honored Atal ji’s vision and contributions to the nation, with dignitaries including Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao in attendance.

Governor Khan paid homage to the late Prime Minister by garlanding his statue and planting a sapling on the university campus. He also unveiled several publications, including the latest issue of the university’s quarterly magazine, Kanhar. The event was attended by prominent leaders, including MLAs Amar Agarwal, Dharamlal Kaushik, and Sushant Shukla, as well as Zila Panchayat Chairman Arun Singh Chauhan.

Speaking at the event, Governor Khan lauded Atal ji as a leader who united people across all walks of life and made decisions in the best interests of the nation. “His legacy as a skilled politician and a true nationalist continues to inspire. Atal ji’s contributions to India will remain etched in history,” he said. Governor Khan also emphasized the importance of education and knowledge in human empowerment, highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage as a global center for learning and Inspiration from Atal Ji’s Life

Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, who presided over the event, described Atal ji as a rare sage-like figure whose contributions transcend generations. “Atal ji’s life and work inspire us to follow the path of selfless service and dedication,” he said, reciting poems written by the late leader.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao reflected on Atal ji’s pivotal role in nation-building, recalling his historic address at the United Nations and the nuclear tests in Pokhran that strengthened India’s global standing. “Chhattisgarh owes its statehood and progress to Atal ji’s vision. His work resonates in every corner of our state,” he said, announcing the construction of Atal complexes in 187 urban bodies across Chhattisgarh as a tribute to his legacy.

Vice Chancellor Acharya Arun Diwakar Nath Vajpayee delivered the welcome speech, outlining the university’s milestones in academics and other fields. He praised the contributions of the students and faculty in upholding the university’s standards of excellence. Guests were welcomed with saplings as a symbol of growth and sustainability.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and dignitaries, including Collector Avnish Sharan, SP Rajnesh Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar, and District Panchayat CEO Sandeep Agarwal.
