Chhattisgarh Government Announces Key Administrative Changes

Chief Minister’s Office Appoints Senior IAS Officers to New Responsibilities

TFP Bureau, Nava Raipur, January 2, 2025:  In a significant reshuffling of administrative responsibilities, the Chhattisgarh government has appointed several senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to key positions, effective immediately. The changes span multiple departments and divisions, aimed at streamlining governance and enhancing departmental efficiency.

Among the notable appointments, Ms. Alarmelmangai D., IAS (2004), currently serving as the Secretary of the Labour Department, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Commercial Tax (Registration) Department. She will continue with her present duties as well as assume responsibility for the new role.

In another key decision, Shri Neelam Namdev Ekka, IAS (2005), has been temporarily posted as the Secretary of the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission. This appointment is aligned with Rule-12 of the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2016, recognizing the position’s prestige and responsibilities equivalent to a cadre post.

Further administrative changes include the temporary posting of Shri Narendra Kumar Dugga, IAS (2008), as Commissioner of Surguja Division, Ambikapur. He will also maintain his roles in the Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development, and Backward Classes and Minority Development departments.

Additionally, Shri Padum Singh Elma, IAS (2010), has been appointed as Commissioner, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development, while continuing his duties in the Technical Education and Employment Department.

Other notable appointments include Shri Abhijeet Singh, IAS (2012), who will take on the additional charge of Secretary, Public Service Commission, and Ms. Pratishtha Mamgai, IAS (2018), who is temporarily posted as the Collector for District Narayanpur. Mr. Prateek Jain, IAS (2020), is also moved to the position of Chief Executive Officer for the District Panchayat in Bastar.

These changes, announced by the Chief Minister’s Office, are aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of key government departments and ensuring the smooth implementation of state policies.
