State’s First Road Safety Experience Room Inaugurated in Kabirdham

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma emphasizes awareness to reduce road accidents and promote safe driving

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 2, 2025: In a pioneering move to enhance road safety awareness, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma inaugurated Chhattisgarh’s first Road Safety Experience Room at the Transport Office in Kabirdham district today. The initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, aims to educate citizens about traffic rules, accident prevention, and responsible driving.

Kabirdham is the first district in the state to host such an innovative facility, which uses virtual experiences, interactive videos, and models to present vital road safety information. The experience room provides drivers with practical tips to avoid accidents and understand the importance of traffic regulations.

A Unique Learning Experience

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma, while inaugurating the facility, explored its various components and received detailed insights into its functioning. He stressed that the room’s creative approach to spreading awareness will help instill positive attitudes toward safety and compliance with traffic laws.

“Just as mothers play a key role in teaching children the difference between right and wrong, this initiative will nurture a sense of responsibility and safety in society,” said Shri Sharma.

The room will also host a mandatory audio-visual session for individuals applying for driving licenses. Applicants will receive a certificate upon completing the session, signifying their understanding of traffic rules, the challan process, and safe driving practices.

Promoting Safe and Responsible Driving

Shri Sharma highlighted that this initiative not only fosters greater awareness but also ensures transparency in departmental processes. “The goal is to make every individual applying for a driving license fully aware of traffic rules and the importance of safe driving,” he said. The program is expected to improve compliance with road safety measures and significantly reduce accidents across the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced plans to expand the initiative beyond Kabirdham to the entire state, ensuring more citizens benefit from the program.

Citizens Respond Positively

During the inauguration, visitors at the Transport Office experienced the Road Safety Experience Room and expressed appreciation for the effort. Shri Sharma noted that this initiative will not only benefit local residents but also set an example for road safety awareness throughout Chhattisgarh.

By prioritizing safety and education, Kabirdham has taken a significant step toward becoming a model district for road safety. The program marks a crucial milestone in creating a culture of responsible driving across the state.
