TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 4, 2025: In a move to expedite the investigation into the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range, Shri Sundarraj P, has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The 11-member team will be led by IPS officer Shri Mayank Gurjar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bijapur.
A crime report has been filed at the Bijapur police station regarding the murder of Mukesh Chandrakar. The SIT, comprised of senior police officers, includes Ms. Ruchi Verma (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dantewada), Mr. Sharad Jaiswal (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bijapur), Ms. Geetika Sahu (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bastar), Mr. Durgesh Sharma (Inspector, Bijapur), Mr. Virendra Srivastava (Inspector, District Special Branch, Bijapur), and others.
The team has been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation into the case and provide daily progress reports to the Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range. This development underscores the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a prompt and detailed inquiry into the tragic incident.
