TFP Bureau, New Delhi/Raipur,January 7, 2025 : Amit Kumar, a distinguished IPS officer from the 1998 batch of the Chhattisgarh cadre, was conferred the prestigious President’s Police Medal by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to law enforcement, both at the national level and in Chhattisgarh.

Currently serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Intelligence in Chhattisgarh Police, Kumar has built a stellar reputation for elevating policing standards in Naxal-affected Bastar as well as in urban districts like Durg and Raipur. His innovative strategies and leadership significantly curtailed Naxal activities and strengthened urban law enforcement.

Amit Kumar’s illustrious career includes a 12-year tenure in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), where he served as Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Joint Director (Policy). During this time, he spearheaded crucial policy reforms and enhanced the agency’s operational efficiency.

Since assuming his role as ADG (Intelligence) in January 2023, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Kumar has further bolstered Chhattisgarh’s intelligence apparatus and internal security framework.
