TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 16, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai led by example today, riding a bike while wearing a helmet to promote road safety during the 36th National Road Safety Month in Chhattisgarh. Addressing citizens, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of adhering to traffic rules and urged both two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers to prioritize safety.
The event, held at Rohinipuram Gol Chowk in the capital city, featured a grand bike rally flagged off by Shri Sai. The rally saw participation from citizens, police officials, and voluntary organizations, who also spread awareness through street plays highlighting the dangers of traffic violations.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that human life is invaluable and underscored the responsibilities individuals have toward their families and society. “We are irreplaceable to our loved ones,” he said, adding that following traffic rules is essential to ensure personal and collective safety. He urged two-wheeler riders to always wear helmets, car drivers to use seat belts, and all motorists to avoid overspeeding and driving under the influence.
Shri Sai expressed concern over the alarming number of road accidents and fatalities reported each year, calling them a significant loss to the nation and the state. “Road accidents are largely preventable if we follow traffic rules. Controlling speed and avoiding intoxicated driving can save countless lives,” he stated. The Chief Minister encouraged citizens to embrace safe driving habits to protect themselves and others on the road.
The 36th National Road Safety Month, being observed until January 31, 2025, has seen a series of awareness campaigns organized by the Raipur Traffic Police. These include creative banners, posters, and public engagement activities on the theme “Road Safety – Life Saving.” The police and local administration are conducting events across the state to educate citizens about safe driving practices.
The campaign has actively involved drivers, parents, students, and community members. Present at the event were Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Ummed Singh, senior officials from the police and transport departments, and a large number of dignitaries.
