TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 22, 2025: The Congress is set to win both urban and rural local body elections, declared State Congress President Deepak Baij. Speaking confidently about the party’s prospects, Baij stated that the Congress would not only repeat its past success but also expand its victories in more panchayat and municipal areas this time.
Baij criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state, citing widespread public dissatisfaction with its one-year tenure. “The deteriorating law and order, coupled with daily incidents of murder, rape, robbery, and stabbings, have left the people disillusioned. The BJP government has failed to deliver,” he remarked.
Highlighting the BJP’s unfulfilled promises from the assembly elections, Baij pointed out the failure to provide gas cylinders at ₹500 and to deliver 18 lakh houses as pledged. He further accused the government of increasing electricity tariffs and discontinuing the 50% subsidy on electricity bills up to 400 units that existed under Congress rule.
“The public feels betrayed. The BJP government’s failure to fulfill its promises and its lack of good governance will be the key issues in this election. Farmers, women, youth, and marginalized communities alike feel let down,” Baij asserted.
He also took aim at Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, accusing the government of corruption and bad governance. “In one year, the BJP government has failed on all fronts. The anger and disappointment of the people will reflect in these elections, leading to the BJP’s defeat,” Baij concluded.
