TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 24, 2025: Chhattisgarh has achieved a new milestone in paddy procurement, surpassing last year’s record of 144.92 lakh metric tonnes. As of now, the state has procured over 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy since the procurement process began on November 14, 2024. The initiative continues uninterrupted and is set to run until January 31, 2025.
According to the state’s Food Department, 25.13 lakh farmers have sold their paddy under the bank-linking system. A payment of Rs 29,599 crore has already been disbursed to these farmers, ensuring timely financial support.
Simultaneously, the lifting of paddy for custom milling is underway at a rapid pace. Direct Order (DO) and Transport Order (TO) have been issued for 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, of which over 87 lakh metric tonnes have already been lifted.
To facilitate smooth transactions, the state government has provided an online token system, “Token Tunhar Hath,” enabling farmers to select convenient dates for selling their produce. This service is available to registered farmers until January 25, 2025.
The government has registered 27.78 lakh farmers for the Kharif marketing year 2024–25, including 1.59 lakh new farmers. With an estimated target of 160 lakh metric tonnes of paddy procurement, transactions are being conducted across 2,739 procurement centers.
On January 24 alone, 1.41 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 30,762 farmers. Over 58,000 tokens were issued for the same, underscoring the efficient implementation of the procurement system.
